On October 9th, a spectacular (and
warm!) fall day, over three hundred supporters and friends
joined us to celebrate our 20th Annual Patrons’ Country
Luncheon at the historic Hitchcock Farm in Millbrook. We were
treated to some amazing stories about the farm and its
historic barns provided by guest speaker, local author and
historian John Foreman. After the luncheon, we were able to
take a stroll to the barns to view the devastating damage
caused by a fire and witness the rebuilding process
firsthand. Our thanks to John for his exciting
behind-the-scenes look at this amazing property. We can’t
thank the Hitchcock Family enough for providing the beautiful
venue for our celebration.
Our thanks to our Co-Chairs, Kathleen Augustine, Helen
Blodgett and Dorothy Sprague, and Silent Auction Chair Leslie
Farhangi, whose tireless efforts ensured a very elegant event
and successful Silent Auction; to Felicity Bontecou for
donating her time to arrange the gorgeous flowers; to The
Farmer’s Wife for a delicious fall-themed lunch; to all of our
very generous Silent Auction donors; and of course to all who
were able to join us for lunch. It is only with your help
that we can ensure Dutchess County retains its scenic and
rural character for future generations.
