The day of our luncheon was humid but
clear and we all enjoyed another spectacular Millbrook Horse Trials
at Coole Park Farm. Highlights of the day included the exciting
stadium jumping competition, the course walk with Olympic Bronze
Medalist Kerry Millikin, the highly entertaining PRO Riders sack
race with Millbrook’s own Running Fox Pony Clubbers, an amazing
lunch courtesy of Serge Madikians of Serevan Restaurant, and the
opportunity to gather with our friends and supporters to celebrate
land conservation and all that you have helped us to accomplish.
Special thanks to our Luncheon Co-Chairs
Sarah Luke and Lelee Brandt for all of their hard work in making our
luncheon not only an elegant event but also a very successful one!
Not only did they organize the luncheon down to creating the
centerpieces, they also procured two wonderful silent auction items
for us: A beautiful original oil painting by artist Peter Corbin and
a handsome Devoucoux calfskin saddle. Both items were very popular
and helped to raise funds to continue our work. Thanks also to Serge
Madikians of Serevan for donating his time and the delicious lunch;
to Kerry Millikin for once again leading an informative course walk;
to David and Connie Clapp of Coole Park Farm and Millbrook School
who continue to allow us to use their beautiful properties as the
venue for this important event; and, as always, to you, our Patrons,
for showing your amazing support for us and the work we do to
protect the rural character of the land we all love and call home.
