DLC’s 2009 Vernal Pool Walk

We had a beautiful day for our walk this year and over twenty-five enthusiastic salamander hunters were in attendance.

Our Education Programs Manager Julie Hart discussed the wildlife and conservation of vernal pools and, as evidenced below,

many junior hunters had fun studying the egg masses and salamanders which populated the pool this spring. We were also

treated to a group of turtles sunning themselves above the pond on a fallen log.
