Senior Director of Philanthropy and Communications

Joanna Schofield joins Dutchess Land Conservancy as Senior Director of Philanthropy and Communications. She brings diverse experiences in leadership and program development, including fundraising for ten years at Johns Hopkins University & Medicine. She holds an M.A. in Nonprofit Management and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).

Joanna considers herself an unofficial "tree hugger.” From her time playing in upstate New York's forests as a young girl, to exploring the Pacific Northwest wilderness in her youth, to raising her girls in Maryland’s farm country, Joanna feels most at home surrounded by green spaces.

Her return to New York to join DLC’s vision for land stewardship is a return to her heritage. Joanna is a fourteenth-generation New Yorker, and she believes in the vital importance of passing a healthy world to the next generation. Joanna is honored to step into her role at Dutchess Land Conservancy and to partner with the DLC’s many friends and supporters who are committed to investing in local land protection.
