Kara Lyn Moran joined the Dutchess Land Conservancy (DLC) as Land Projects Manager in July 2026. In this role, she prepares new conservation easements and purchase of development rights projects, educates landowners and the public about the DLC’s mission and programs, and develops maps and other project documentation.
Kara previously served as the DLC’s Stewardship Fellow from 2022 to 2023 and is excited to return to the organization. Prior to rejoining the DLC, she worked with several land trusts in Pennsylvania and Connecticut, focusing on land conservation education and ecological restoration.
Kara holds a Master of Environmental Science (MESc) from the Yale School of the Environment and a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Religious Studies from Lafayette College.
Outside of work, Kara enjoys hiking, reading, listening to podcasts, and keeping up with the latest competition reality TV shows.
