Join Dave Strayer of the Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies as he reveals the hidden life found in our inland waters.
In this profusely illustrated talk, Cary Institute freshwater ecologist Dave Strayer will describe the rich and imperiled life of the world’s inland waters, and discuss how we can best preserve these ecosystems and species for future generations. The talk will draw from his recent book, Beyond the Sea: The Hidden Life in Lakes, Streams, and Wetlands, and will interest anyone who likes to fish, swim, boat, watch birds, or sit by the shore, or who is interested in biodiversity and its conservation.
Dave Strayer is a retired freshwater ecologist from the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, where he worked for more than 30 years as part of a team that studied the ecology of the Hudson River. Dave is the author of The Hudson Primer: The Ecology of an Iconic River and a new book, Beyond the Sea: The Hidden Life in Lakes, Streams, and Wetlands.
The DLC's Earth Matters webinar series is sponsored by LaBella Associates, Mutual of America, and Structure Works Construction.
