The Ductchess Land Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy, and Friends of Stissing Landmarks

Saturday, May 4, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Thompson Pond Preserve

Explore and learn about the exciting trailwork going on at Thompson Pond from local experts and volunteers!

Thompson Pond is a unique glacially-carved pond shadowed by Stissing Mountain, a geologic wonder that is home to one of New York State's tallest fire towers. The creation of the new Thompson to Tower Trail last year saw a burst of energy and enthusiasm from the community that lives near and visits Thompson Pond Preserve. That energy is continuing this year with the reconnection of the boardwalk on the south side of Thompson Pond. With the full loop nearing completion, now is the time to come out to Thompson Pond to explore the trails and the natural wonders there. Learn how you can join the excitement by talking with the people making it happen. There is no need to RSVP or register for this event. The DLC, The Nature Conservancy, and Friends of Stissing Landmarks will be at Thompson Pond from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM to answer questions and provide information about the amazing things going on here and how we can work together to best support the outdoor recreation needs of our diverse community.
