Dutchess Land Conservancy & Dutchess County Soil & Winnakee Land Trust
Saturday, July 11, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sisters Hill Woods Preserve
Learn about invasive plants and their effects on local ecosystems while helping to remove invasives.
Trails are meant to be welcoming spaces—places to explore, learn, and connect with nature. Sometimes, though, fast-growing invasive plants can crowd out native species, making it harder for both wildlife and people to fully enjoy these special places.
Join us at Winnakee Land Trust’s Sisters Hill Woods Preserve in Stanford for a hands-on opportunity to make a difference. Together, we’ll work on clearing invasives from a section of trail while learning how to recognize common invasive plants like burning bush—and what makes them such a challenge for local ecosystems.
Whether you’re new to this kind of work or already love spending time outdoors, there’s a role for everyone, regardless of age or experience. Come spend time outside, learn something new, and help keep this trail welcoming and enjoyable for all!
Lunch will be provided.
