We have a special stewardship opportunity and are looking for volunteers to help manage invasive plants within our fenced restoration area at the Bontecou Preserve.

As many of you are aware, we recently completed a one-acre deer exclosure and planted native shrubs and perennials within. While these new plantings are getting established, invasive species are beginning to compete with and crowd out native plants and other important vegetation.

We need your help to keep this restoration effort on track.

To get started, we are offering two brief training sessions where you'll learn how to identify and remove invasive plants within the restoration area. After attending one training, you'll have the knowledge - and access to our tools - to visit the site on your own schedule and contribute to this meaningful restoration work at your own pace.

This is a great opportunity to learn about invasive plants and how to identify them. You'll also discover effective ways to remove invasive species through hands-on work and create space for native plants to thrive.

Please RSVP and let us know which session you would like to attend. We will send additional information and directions prior to the training.
