Dutchess Land Conservancy & The Nature Conservancy

Thursday, June 26, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Pawling Nature Reserve

Help improve the nation's most famous long-distance hiking trail!

Would you like to improve the experience along America’s most famous hiking path? Please join us on June 26 as we venture out to remove invasives along the Appalachian Trail in Pawling. Invasive species can quickly overtake a trail and have a negative impact on the local ecosystem as well as on hikers’ ability to easily traverse the trail. We’ll be working on a section of the Appalachian Trail in the Pawling Nature Reserve, diligently clearing a particularly overgrown stretch of trail. After a moderately steep ¾-mile hike to the site, there will be tasks for all fitness levels and abilities. Come and learn to identify these invasives, and to be a part of making this trail more enjoyable for all!
