Learn how to sow native plants from seed and why they're so important!
How would you like to learn to sow native plants from seed? It’s a fun and fascinating way to discover more about native plants and why they’re so crucial to maintaining healthy local ecosystems. Please join us at the Dutchess Land Conservancy's Jesse & Gayle Bontecou Wildlife Conservation Preserve on Thursday, October 16, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM for a Native Seed Sowing Workshop. During this workshop, we will discuss which seeds are best started in late fall (as opposed to early spring) and demonstrate methods for sowing seeds. You will take home a container with seeds you have sown during the workshop to grow and plant at home.
Materials for this workshop (container, soil, and seed) will be provided. Please bring gardening gloves if you have them, and be sure to dress appropriately for the weather as the workshop will be held outdoors.
