Saturday, January 10, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jesse & Gayle Bontecou Wildlife Conservation Preserve (rain/snow date Jan. 11)
Join us as we look for signs of wildlife activity in winter!
Please join us at the Jesse & Gayle Bontecou Wildlife Conservation Preserve on Saturday, January 10 for a guided walk focused on how wildlife monitoring directly informs land stewardship on conserved land.
Led by wildlife biologist Andrew Pelletier, we will explore the preserve to look for signs of wildlife activity and learn how data from trail cameras and deer population surveys are used to guide real management decisions at Bontecou. Participants will see how deer pressure, habitat structure, and species movement all factor into the ways protected land is actively cared for over time.
This program will also highlight the stewardship work taking place at the Bontecou Preserve and how it connects to ways in which everyone, from private landowners to farmers to towns, can manage their own properties to support healthy habitats and long-term land protection.
