It may have been mid-winter, but it's never a bad time to learn about our bees and other pollinators. Fox Farm Apiary's Chris Layman, a local expert on the lives and habits of New York's bees, led a stimulating discussion at the DLC office in Millbrook on the winged pollinators that buzz about flowers in fields and forests. During the talk, Chris stressed the importance of native plants for bees and how the constant threat of invasive plants is having an impact on their food foraging. He further explained how the right mix of flowering plants can help the health of bees and other pollinators. Click here to learn more about Chris and Fox Farm Apiary.
