The DLC awarded scholarships to twenty-two deserving 4-H'ers. On a beautiful evening at the Dutchess County Fair, DLC President Becky Thornton, along with Director of Education Julie Hart and Communications Manager Doug Ohlandt, awarded scholarships to twenty-two 4-H'ers. The scholarships were awarded to help pay for the costs associated with attending the Fair. As part of the application, 4-H'ers were asked to write an essay detailing how land conservation and good management is important to sustaining farming or why farming is important to people. We'll be sharing some of what the 4-H'ers wrote on our website and in our newsletters. Funds for the scholarships were provided by the Dutchess Land Conservancy and Dutchess County 4-H.
