Visitors learn about the importance of soils from DLC Director of Education Julie Hart. Guests gathered at the O Zone Sustainability Center at Grieg Farm in Red Hook to gain a better understanding of the soils beneath our feet from the DLC's Julie Hart. She walked them through the formation of soils, the constituent parts of soil, and how to tell different soils apart. Attendees then participated in interactive experiments to test soil samples and discover for themselves which soils work best for individual plants. It made for a fun and informative evening of science as guests walked away with a better appreciation for the ground we all walk upon every day.
