The DLC partnered with AudubonNY for a Woodcock Walk at the Buttercup Farm Audubon Sanctuary in Stanford. 
In what is fast becoming an annual tradition, the DLC and AudubonNY invited guests to experience one of the great ornithological rites of spring - the mating dance of the American woodcock. Participants in the walk first heard woodcock calls coming from multiple directions, including one that was near the trail, and then saw the males performing their aerial ballet, swooping low and tacking with the breeze in an attempt to attract nearby females. Truly, it was a magical evening, a seldom seen or heard natural experience that brought joy to many. Rest assured, the DLC will be teaming with AudubonNY in 2024 for another woodcock walk!
